With an unusual marking on the lamp shoulder, it is thought the lamp was manufactured by F. W. Watson & Son in Scranton in 1879 or 1880. Watson & Son was listed as a tinware manufacturer with a business on Lackawanna St. in the 1879 and 1880 Scranton business directories. This lamp is unusual in that the F. W. Watson & Son Makers Scranton PA. stamping on the font is missing. Other examples I’ve seen include that marking.
